How All This Works

Posted on Nov 28th, 2008 by Kevino : Philosopher Kevino
How can the attackers in Mumbai be right? How can their opposition be right? How can people slaughter others and be slaughtered? What is going on?

We have heard for years through Eastern religions that there is no right and wrong, that peace with oneself and the world can be found, in more or less murky phrases. But one can see the difficulty. How does one describe a state of being?

Well there is way if not to BE it at least to understand how it came about, and to more exactly see what one can do to proceed along one's path as one chooses. To do this one understands the process of how things arrived at their present state. Our history is available, not individually, but as a group.Through this history we can deduce much about our nature and why things are the way they are. That brings a measure of peace. And as one moves through one's personal path that can bring more understanding.
I am sure that we really are love and understanding, at our most basic. The broad picture is available at www.themodeloftheuniverse.com Feel free to contact me with any comments/questions.

How We Grow Spiritually

Posted on Nov 29th, 2008 by Kevino : Philosopher Kevino

When we say "grow" spiritually what are we talking about? There could be quite a few definitions, however all of them appear to include some sort of increased awareness. Something was not there, then it is. That something may have always been there. We just did not see it, or see it in the same way.
This points out the bare fact that in order to grow one must see more than one is presently capable of. It also points out that our understanding increases as our awareness increases.
There is a catch, though. One is aware of only what one is aware of. That includes all probabliities of that world existing within one's personal scope. Therefore what is really new must not be simply what one was not seeing at the moment. The new is what one does not consider possible, or real.
So increased spiritual awareness is really coming to see that which one did not know existed.
Most people have a stop point. This means they will not look beyond a range of understanding that they are comfortable with. That understanding generally includes anything that does not fit their present ideas, in other words that scope of the possible that is their personal reality. There is nothing wrong with this. However there is a reason for this stop, and a way to overcome it. It seems that the better one understands the spiritual system the easier it is to look. If one can open one's mind to possiblities and run them through one's own grinder, the new may be easier to see. Doors can be opened. Only the individual, at his or her discretion, can do so.

Alone I Lived

Alone I lived
but now can see
the glade of
reciprocity

A willow bend
that marks the curve
of far horizon's
bold reserve

Through windows...

Posted on Nov 30th, 2008 by Kevino : Philosopher Kevino

Through windows shrouded in shadow and mirror
Castaway snowflakes of phantom lace shiver
Banking white hiccups turn starts and reveals
In a whispering hush of ten thousand pinwheels

Cold dazzling lamplight entrances the eye
Bold and sublime below cloud canvassed sky
Wintry abutments of curved handiwork
Grow splendid on sidewalk, landscaping and earth

Rosy rebellions of children deploy
Bursting through doors with impassible joy
Dervishes, whirling in mythical scheme
Dance out a marvelous christening dream

Parents of parents the pageantry spy
Seeing with forgoing Candlemas' eye
Young nights of old working magical spells
Ring back with fresh clear and clamorous bells

Innocents raptured, the aged redeemed
Mankind and focus methodically seamed
Hearts glow emblazoned in ardent delight
As nature breathes glory and awe through the night
