Right vs. Wrong

Posted on Mar 27th, 2009 by Kevino : Philosopher Kevino

It could be said that the process of spirituality is the search for understandiing. But that long road to finally getting it has many less complete, but important, milestones of understanding along the way. So an understanding process involves breaking down one's movement on the path until the final light bulb goes on.

A useful method of expediting one's path involves the concepts of right vs. wrong. It is spiritually impossible for you or anyone to be absolutely wrong. That means a solution to any issue that involves you or anyone else being wrong is not correct..

If you have complete understanding of the viewpoints in that solution no one is wrong. It is possible for anyone to have committed broken promises, societal blunders, even considerable crimes. But it is not ultimately possible that anyone has ever done anything that they SHOULD feel badly about.

Few of us are at the point where we don't cringe a bit at something we've done Therefore feeling wrong is a useful tracking device. Find where you felt wrong, understand it, and you will likely recover a part of yourself.

The same applies if you are extremely right about something. If you are right to the point where you can't even consider looking at another viewpoint there is likely something you don't understand. You don't have to ultimately agree with the other viewpoint but you should be able to look at it to the point of agreement. Then back out of that agreement, look at your own viewpoint and see if it makes sense to you. If you can't even consider the other side, try to find what you are refusing to look at. There will be something.

This is not an easy society to live in spiritually. A body society has too many distractions to allow a clear path to understanding. But the path is doable, and real, in my opinion.

It's obviously far too late for blog comments, 'cause the first that came to mind was from Frankenstein… “He's ALIVE.”  And the second was from song lyrics, “you may be right, you may be crazy, but it just may be a lunatic I'm lookin' for” (granted, I twisted the pronouns I think).

I was at a lecture last night and a man who was studying Buddhism in his home life was commenting that he kept getting stopped by the unkind actions of people… like he just couldn't put himself in their shoes.  I had to stop and back up and ponder how to teach that to someone.

Overall, my biggest issue is that IIIIII am the one I can work with, change, move, alter… just only self.  And the sooner we all comprehend that for all the selves in existence, the sooner we leap into advanced consciousness as a world.

So, yep, right/wrong/good/bad, it's all judgment.  And where there is judgment, there is a chance to find the fear beneath it and look closely at the self… which is GROWING, YAY! : )

Love ya Kev… thanks for poppin' a blog in once in a while to uplift our souls!

Thank you Asteri, Hugs!

Hi Michele! Agreed, a person who has the idea “other people need to change” is not going to get it. A reasonable outlook in all this is that every person understands exactly what he or she wants to understand. There are no “smart” people or “dumb” people. You and I have agreed to be who, what, where, when and how we are, absolutely. So IF one wishes to move out of the place one is in the approach should be through understanding. To do otherwise plants one more firmly where one is!

Another way to look at this is to imagine the universe as a cardboard box, sitting on the floor in front of you. Then imagine a microscopic dot somewhere inside that box. That is your viewpoint into that cardboard universe. The easier and faster you can move the dot, the more you can see. The more you see, the more you understand, the more fun life becomes. It really is that simple.

To look with understanding at all things is the way to truth.  My opinion.
