Basic Dichotomies of Life

Posted on May 2nd, 2009 by Kevino : Philosopher Kevino

1. Living as God vs. living as a part of God.

It is the most natural thing in the world to believe one is God. One IS God. But the rule in this place in one viewpoint per person. You are a part of a whole in here To attempt to be the complete knowing, all seeing all God is likely to run you into some problems. You have the right to operate any way you want.  But it might be a good idea to know the ground rules to make better sense of what is going on as you live.

2. Living as a viewpoint vs. living through understanding.

One can live as a viewpoint. That is to say, live with the idea one is the place from where one is looking, with all of attached ideas, opinions and judgements one has acquired over time. This is in a very real sense liiving in the past. One's reality wiill remain static, or shrink as limited ideas put one in a corner.
However it is possible to live with the idea of understanding. Instead of looking at life based on the past, one looks at events and people in terms of how THEY operate, with a minimum of judgement and opinion. This can lead to genuinely seeing where other people "are coming from", walking a mile in their shoes, that sort of thing. And doing it not from your reality, but from their reality.

3. Lving consciously vs. liivng automatically

We are all to a degree-probably quite a large degree-unconcious. That is to say, we have a lot of attention on things we are not currently focusing on. This can tend to lead one to lose focus on the present,. Our responses to life can become automatic. Our reality becomes a stimulus-response machine.
Living consciously means being aware of what is going on as it happens. None of us are going to be perfectly in tune with the now. But we can live more in the now, through practices such as yoga, mediation, and the intention to understand.

4. Living with right and wrong vs. living with no right and wrong

It is a spiritual impossiblity for anyone to do anything "wrong". I realize that covers a broad swath of apparent crimes against humanity. But nevertheless it seems to be true. Understanding tends to move one in the direction of seeing this. So a means of understanding can be to track any feeling of being wrong or another being wrong to the source. This can be pretty tough to do and this world of reaction may not appreciate your stance. But ultimately it seems to be the direction we're headed. One can "proof" the truth pretty easily. Feeling it is another matter.

Few on this earth are likely to operate in complete harmony with the above. I've not  have not met anyone who is. Life here seems to be about direction. But there is a real place to get to, a real understanding, a place where life begins to get easier and problems solve themselves. And the trip is free. themodeloftheuniverse.com

How this Universe is Constructed

Posted on May 13th, 2009 by Kevino : Philosopher Kevino
This universe was constructed to afford one on one communication. One exchanges viewpoints with another. That is the "stable" method of the game.

You can back out that functionality from the fact that an individual can put direct attention, or "focus", on only one thing at a time. This place doesn't have to be constructed that way, but it is, and for the present we have to live with it.

Problems arise when one has more than one "thing" to put attenton on. Or, when attention is diverted from one thing to another without removing one's attention from the first thing. What does one do?

The operation of creation is instantaneous and ongoing. So the idea of "later" doesn't really enter into the life of a spirit unless it is placed there. We are natively in the now, always. But one can decide to "store" things. And we did decide to do that. When one does not wish to examine some "thing" to the point of understanding, one creates a place for it to exist for later examination. It is not the thing, it is the place. One returns to a space in time, not to the thing itself because the thing was not understood. Over time one stores a great many times and places. So does everyone else.

And you end up with a physical universe that is really just a massive compilation of what is not understood. The nature of this place is not to be understood. That is why it is here and why understanding breaks it down, and only understanding. There is no other solution, no quick fix, no putting an idea ahead of you and running for it. That doesn't work. One must simply move through it. You don't know what the next step is, except that it is moving into a space that you don't understand. Movement is key. You will not go anywhere by adhering to present realiy. You change the physical universe when you understand. That is spiritual growth.

It is completely and absolutely attainable. My opinion.

Perception and Reality

Posted on May 13th, 2009 by Kevino : Philosopher Kevino
A main sticking point to understanding occurs with how one views this universe. We on earth  tend to see in Newtonian terms. That is, we believe that when an apple falls from the tree there is a set of absolute rules which govern it's fall, and those rules are reality.

Einstein proved this idea is false. He demonstrated that each of us see through a different perceptive lens. No one of us is observing the same thing. Spiritually one can take this observation one step further. Perception is what is real, not the physical universe. What is real is what you perceive. Without perception there is no physical reality.  This is not conjecture, you can use idea this very effectively in your own life, starting now.

If you understand  a viewpoint. any viewpoint,  to where you agree with it,  you grow spiritually.. The growth is cumulative. That is to say, the more you take on other viewpoints, the greater your love, understanding, and focus. This is pretty cut and dried. But it helps to know it is true and to have a support system. You can experiment by finding something that you don't agree with and taking completely the other side, to the point where you agree with it. If you can't stand abortion, take the other side. If you hate drunks, take the side of drinking. Understand it as thoroughly as you can. Then go back to your viewpoint and decide what you think. Some pretty astonishing things can happen along the way.
It is spiritually impossible to do anything "wrong". That is as true as that the sun will rise tomorrow. Your understanding will be greater as you move in that direction, and with it life should get easier and more fun. And people get to be quite a kick.
I love you guys!
